MATT SUMMERFIELD

Chair

Matt is the Executive Director of youth charity, Urban Saints and now the new chair of Romance Academy. Matt used to work for T-mobile but took a slight side step to take the helm of 100 year old Urban Saints just over 10 years ago. A decade of working with a national charity means that Matt is EXACTLY the right person to take RA to the next level. It helps that he's an absolute hoot and pleasure to be around. At his recent birthday bash, Matt dressed up as Superman...and pulled it off. Trustee meetings will never be the same. 

Gordon Matthews

Trustee

Gordon is RA's outgoing Chair. With a background in IT and an entrepreneurial heart, he is the man that helped transform Romance Academy from a feature in a BBC documentary, to the national charity it is now. Quite simply, RA would not be here were it not for Gordon. Although no longer heading up the board, Gordon is still an active and pastoral part of the team.

Pete Gladwell

Trustee

Pete is the newest member of the board. By day, a business development manager for Legal and General and by night, many many things to many people (charity work, helping the homeless, running marathons etc. The usual!) Pete has a particular gift with numbers and the gab and when the two combine, it's magic. 

Lindsay Macdonald

Trustee

Lindsay is a qualified high school teacher but spends her time doing supply work so that she may pour her passion and energy into causes that are close to her heart. She is the only trustee to have been trained by us and we are thrilled that we have her support.

Katy Hall

Trustee

Katy is Centre Manager for a pupil referral unit in Manchester. Katy brings a brilliant sense of humour, passion and strategic energy to the trustee board, as well as the unique and invaluable perspective of a high school teacher.
